How are you doing? How long did it take you to get plugged into a church that you are currently attending? Timur and Nadya come from the Muslim republic of Tatarstan. They moved from Kazan to Moscow back in December of last year. Timur is a lawyer and has worked closely with Victor Ivanov, who is spearheading our youth ministry and who also happens to be an attorney. Victor came from Kazan a while back, too, so you could say this relationship goes a long way back. Timur and Nadya visited the church in Kazan but never became regular attendees. Once they moved to Moscow, they contacted Victor, inquiring if it would be ok for them to visit Moscow Bible Church.
In some respects, their story is one of those ideal testimonies that you hear about but rarely get to see first-hand. Timur and Nadya put their faith in Christ, were baptized in May, and joined a small group; Nadaya began volunteering in our ministry at the elderly home which is about a two-hour drive from Moscow, Timur began serving in the nursery, and both of them worked in our Kids’ Camp this summer. See what I mean by a perfect story? It rarely happens this way in ministry! To be completely honest, Russians are very cynical and overall skeptical about a lot of things, so some of us are still afraid that it is all just “too good to be true.”
But by God’s grace it is true! Timur and Nadya did not just find faith or get involved in a church -- they found a family to belong to and that’s what has made all the difference. Thank you so much for your partnership, prayers, and financial support which allows us to continue making Moscow Bible a close-knit community that welcomes newcomers with outstretched arms.
Yours in praying and hastening the day of revival in Moscow and Russia,
Constantin and Alexandra
