What does mobile photography have to do with evangelism? It seems like there is very little connection between those two things. Yet, when sharing the Gospel becomes a lifestyle rather than a project, it permeates every sphere of your life. And that is the story of our deacon, Philippe, and of Bulat who began attending our church back in July and was baptized about a month ago.
Philippe is a fan of mobile photography. He made quite a name for himself on Instagram with about 300,000 people following his account and on TikTok where he enjoys similar popularity. Recently, I saw his reel reposted by a rather large account on Telegram that is dedicated to marketing and creative advertisement.
Back in May, Philippe released a manual on mobile photography. Bulat was one of the people who purchased the manual along with additional photography sessions. After the first session, he chatted with Philippe as Philippe was making his way to church for the Sunday service. So it was only natural for Philippe to invite Bulat to come to church, and it turned out that Bulat had wanted for a while to see what was inside St. Peter and Paul’s Lutheran Cathedral where Moscow Bible Church meets for worship. That is how Bulat came to church for the very first time. He stayed afterwards and never left. It was a great joy to hear his story and to baptize him this past September.
So what is it that connects mobile photography and evangelism? As it turns out the Holy Spirit may surprise us if we are willing and open to use what He has given us for His glory.
Yours in praying and hastening the day of revival in Moscow and Russia,
Constantin and Alexandra
P.S. And yes Philippe made sure that he was the one photographing Bulat’s baptism. He said it was the least he could do for his new friend.
THREE THINGS TO PRAY FOR:
Please join us in praying for God:
- To bring peace to Ukraine and Russia. Moreover, ask God to use this conflict by bringing reconciliation and revival to both countries.
- To bless our upcoming annual “All Saints” Youth Conference with depth of impact and width of reach by making our talks and seminars deep while attracting many young people to attend. Our theme this year is “Sola Gratia.” I will be speaking on the need for grace and then will lead a seminar on the relationship between faith and science.
- To provide the necessary resources for us to finish up remodeling our new place. We have moved in, but could not purchase a coat closet for the entryway, book shelves, or shelves for the closet.
