JUNE 23 PART 2: Well... that was crazy

How was your day? One of my favorite lines from contemporary Christian songs comes from Caedmon's Call's "Table for Two":

Well this day's been crazy  But everything's happened on schedule,  from the rain and the cold  To the drink that I spilled on my shirt.  'Cause You knew how You'd save me  before I fell dead in the garden,  And You knew this day  long before You made me out of dirt.

Any day when you see how the army sets up a military check point with armored vehicles and grenade launchers a stone throw away from your home qualifies as a crazy day in my book. And today was just that kind of day. You have probably heard by now that Private Military Company "Wagner" that has been fighting in Ukraine decided last night to launch an offensive in Russia. By the early morning without any resistence they took the city of Rostov in the South of Russia and then began their march towards Moscow. Now at the time it was a groupd of about 25,000 battle tested troups fully equipped with tanks, anti-aircraft vehicles and armored personel carriers. In Rostov they took over the military headquarters of the Southern Military District of Russia (key logistical center for the entire operation in Ukraine). They moved through the cities of Voronzh and Lipetsk and came within a little over than 100 miles from Moscow when suddenly they stopped and decided to turn back.

Now, I have spent most of the day with the leaders from our church. We had scheduled a leadership meeting to strategize how we can instill and develop a culture of evangelism that would permeate every ministry at our church. It was hard but we began the meeting by agreeing that we would not check our phones to see how the rapidly escalating situation was developing. Becuase in the end no matter how crazy this day was one is for certain – God was in complete control over everything! To Him be the glory!

Yours in praying and hastening the day of revival in Moscow and Russia,

Constantin and Alexandra

PS On a completely unrelated note it looks like we are very close to finally selling my grandmother's appartment. I received a downpayment for it and we were supppse to finalize a deal on Thursday but things got a postponed. So we would appreciate greatly your prayers that both we would finalize a deal and would get a very favorable price for a new place for us to move into. One that is preferably not on the southwest outskirts of town where rebellious troups were planning to enter the city.
