During the last three years I was asked by just about everyone on a somewhat regular basis: “How is Moscow Bible Church doing?” To tell you the truth, I did not have a very good answer. I simply did not know because “two weeks to flatten the line” turned into two years, and just when we thought the pandemic was slowing down, we would be hit with another wave of lockdowns that would halt any momentum we had picked up in ministry before. Then when we thought we could see the light at the end of the tunnel in early 2022, we all got hit by the incoming train of war with Ukraine. I am sure you can somewhat relate to this experience too, can’t you?
So how is Moscow Bible Church doing? Surprisingly, remarkably well! Over the last three years the church has retained the growth rate of about 12% per year. Three years ago our new members were evenly split between those that came from other churches and those that were baptized in our church. But right now, it appears that most of our new church members are those who came to know the Lord at Moscow Bible. For example photo above is from our most recent baptism. I will share more about it in the ensuing weeks. I do not take this news lightly. I am well aware of so many churches struggling during this time and cannot help but praise God for the tremendous privilege of seeing Him work in our midst. Would you join us in praising God for His faithfulness during some very difficult times?
From Russia with Christ’s love,
Constantin on behalf of myself and Alexandra Lysakov
P.S. Speaking of difficult times, how does one continue to pray for the leaders of a country while disagreeing vehemently with their policies? I will share more about that in my next newsletter.
Please join us in praying for God:
- To bring peace to Ukraine and Russia.
- To raise necessery funds and make a wise purchase of an appartment that would be a place to raise our boys and to serve Christ in proclaiming the Gospel.
- To bless our youth and kids camps that are starting in a couple of weeks.
