Happy New Year! One of the much-cherished holiday traditions for our family is a candlelight service. The problem, though, with three little kids is that we cannot attend the evening service all together. So, we usually celebrate during the candlelight Sunday afternoon service. But it means that our Christmas celebration at church usually happens after Christmas itself. However, this year was special since Christmas Eve was on a Sunday. Back in September, our leaders discussed whether we should hold two services or just one. I must admit I was a little bit hesitant; I did not know whether we would be able to attract enough people for both.
But in the end, we decided to focus more on our usual church members during the afternoon service, while leaving the 10:00 pm service for our friends, colleagues, neighbors, and relatives. It turned out it was a great decision. Our evening service was attended by almost twice as many people as the afternoon one. It attracted not only those who have never been to church, but it also brought together those who have lapsed in their walk with God. It was so good to see so many new faces and some of the old faces that I have not seen in church for a long time. I wish you had been there with us! I am quite confident you would have loved it!
Yours in praying and hastening the day of revival in Moscow and Russia,
Constantin and Alexandra

THREE PRAYER REQUESTS
- We are in the process of remodelling our new place right now. Mostly bathroom and kitchen. But remodeling in Russia is always a bit of an adventure that costs twice as much as you anticipated and lasts twice as long as you planned. Please pray that in our case God would grant us an exception to this rule and this remodelling will be done on time, will be of great quality and will not cost as much as we have anticipated.
- Our youth are planning a winter retreat that starts on January 3. Please pray that new teenagers join our weekly ministry as a result of this outreach.
- It is easy to forget about the war and it is very easy to get used to it. I'm so grateful to our team of volunteers that bring humanitarian aid almost to the front lines of this war on a bi-monthly basis. Their stories and pictures remind all of us of the reality of carnage that is still going on. Please continue to pray with us for peace between Russia and Ukraine.
