Merry Christmas from Moscow! Isn’t it a very special season? What is your favorite family Christmas tradition?
Christmas season is so cheerful and full of hope even in the midst of a raging war that has rendered moot all of our long- and short-term planning. Perhaps no other season has so many special scents and symbols as Christmas does. Maybe that is why it is so easy to lose the forest of the significance of the arrival of God in our midst for the Christmas tree of precious traditions. It is so easy to lose the meaning of this season for the superfluous joys of endless Hallmark movies depicting the celebration.
So as we are getting ready to host our annual candle light outreach tomorrow night at Moscow Bible Church, as we are pushing forward in proclaiming the Gospel in the heart of the city that became the symbol of darkness for much of the western world, I pray that you would pause and ponder with me the breathless beauty of God’s arrival in this world to live the life we could not live, to die the death we dreaded and to conquer mortality we so desired so that with Him and in Him we would rise victorious one day too.
Yours in praying and hastening the day of revival in Moscow and Russia,
Constantin and Alexandra
PS I am sorry for this prolonged silence over the last couple months. They were rather trying to say the least and perhaps it was the most challenging time in ministry that I have ever faced while serving at Moscow Bible. But I will share more about that in my next newsletter and if God so pleases I will also share about some exciting personal news for our family.
Please join us in praying for God:
- To bring peace to Ukraine and Russia and to bless our efforts in not only caring for refugees but also reaching them with the Gospel of Christ.
- To use Christmas Eve candle light service mightily tomorrow so that a lot of people would put their trust in Christ
- To raise necessery funds and make a wise purchase of an appartment that would be a place to raise our boys and to serve Christ in proclaiming the Gospel.
