Christ is risen! Happy Easter! These last three years were filled with a lot of unexpected news. Most of the time they were not of a good variety. No one expected pandemic to be what it turned out to be. Very few thought that it would halt just about everything in the world for almost two years. Then a year ago no one, myself included, expected the war between Russia and Ukraine to break out. These last couple decades we grew somewhat accustomed to the peaceful pace of life that offered very little earth shattering global events. These last couple years seemed to have taught us to expect the unexpected. Maybe on top of it all you were also thrown a curve ball or two in your personal life too. Which only exsacerbated the global anxieties we were all faced with during this time.
But this Easter I was reminded that the last few days of Christ's life on Earth just about everything was unexpected for His disciples despite multiple warnings that Jesus gave them. His arrest shocked them. His betrayal shook them to the core. Who would blame them since they did not know who to trust after one of their own turned out to be the traitor. Perhaps they still harboured some hope when Jesus was flogged. Things could turn around after all. But that hope was quickly waning when nails were driven through His wrists and feet. It was all finished with Savior's last breath and burial. It was over... Only it was not and Easter was quite unexpected too. But finally it was a surprise of a different kind.
That is the source of our hope this Easter season. Things can be quite unexpected but our resurrection, second coming and heaven will also surprise us beyond our imagination. Happy Easter! Christ is risen!
Sincerely yours in Christ praying for revival in Russia,
Constantin and Alexandra
- It is easy to forget about the war and it is very easy to get used to it. Please continue to pray with us for peace between Russia and Ukraine.
- Our church is growing and sometimes. New people are joining the community. These coming weeks will be jam packed with a baptism and a class for new members. Please join us in prayer that these new folks would adjust well and would grow in their relationship with God in our chuch.
- We have begun planning our camps for this summer. As usual, we will have youth camp and kids’ camp. Please pray that we will have a strong team of volunteers and a very fruitful season of outreach.
